sensors

Sensors : Let us say the person be X whose mother tongue is hindi and the other  person be  Y whose mother tongue is tamil. Now the person X cannot understand what the person Y says,  similarly the person Y cannot understand what the person X says. Now to make the understand each other we need to have an intermediate person to translate their languages. An intermediate person role is to make them communicate and understand better. The same role is here for the sensor it connects the device and the controller. What is sensor?  Sensor is a device which  converts the physical signal to electrically measurable signals. The variation in the signals and the response of the devices are based on the changes in the environment. By the way it coordinates the device and the controller What are physical signals?  The physical signals may be: Temperature Light Blood pressure Humidity Speed Smoke.  e.t.c Types of sensors:  Let us se...

E update- IOT

Nowadays people around talks more about IOT i.e Internet of Things. Budding all new technologies are now integrated with IOT. IOT becomes one of the giant technology today which acts as a master to networks. So there is huge need for us to know  what is IOT, how it works, how it is used. IOT What is IOT? IOT is a the process of connecting devices to the internet and to the other connected devices. It continuously collects and share data with devices to which it connected. The things used in everyday life  are usually embedded with electronics, sensors, software and network connectivity where it communicate with to share and collects data around the environment. IOT Environment History of IOT IOT was discovered by Kevin Ashton in 1999. He established global research centre to focus on the development of IOT and RFID. He strongly believed that everything in the world can be changed into data and every things of world can be changed into smart one. How IOT...

Basic MCQ's of EEE-I

1.What is the unit of electrical charge? 1.watt 2. joule 3. volt  4. coulomb   Answer: 4 Explanation: unit of Charge -> Coulomb, Energy ->Joule, Voltage -> Volts, Power -> Watts 2 . The minimum resistance value for a blue, gray, red, silver resistor is 1. 612  2. 6,120 3. 6,800  4. 6,460  Answer: 2 Explanation: blue-6 grey-8 red-2 so value is 6800ohms tolerance +-10% therefore minimum resistance value is 6800/100*10=680 6800-680=6120 3 . If the current changes from 4A to 5A in 1s with the emf 10V. then what will be the value of inductance?  1.10H  2. 20H  3. 30H  4. 40H  Answer: 1  Explanation: As emf=L(i2-i1)/t by substituting i2=4A, i1=5A, emf=10V,we get L=10H 4. What happens when many resistors are connected in series? 1. Divides the voltage proportionally 2. Divides the current propotionally 3. Increase the source voltage 4. Decrease the power to zero ...

Center Tapped Transformer

Center Tap: Center Tap is a point connected along the half way of transformer, inductor, resistor or potentiometer. It provides variable in the value. Center Tapped transformer: Mostly center tapped transformer are used to reduce low voltage supply. This happens when the demand is more than the supply voltage. If the transformer is overloaded then the output voltage reduces. This problem can be reduced by using Center tapped transformer where the number of turns can be changed by connecting at various point of windings. so the output voltage can be managed. Center tapped transfromer has the same working principle as normal transformer but the main difference is secondary winding is divided into two parts. Center tapped transformer Working Principle:  The working principle is same as normal transformer. If the alternating current is made to pass through the primary winding the flux will be produced in it, when the secondary winding is brought near to it, an induced e...

UPS-Uninterruptible Power Supply

UPS:  UPS is a device which provides power to the device and regulates it for the short duration in the absence of main electrical power. It consists of battery which stores the energy needed during the presence of power. It involves rectifier, batteries, power inverter and static switch of several components. Rectifier: Rectifier is used for converting AC into DC as usual. Here the rectifier is used fro two main functions: Convert AC into DC to the supply  of filtered load or the supply inverter Convert AC into DC to charge the battery It is also used in charge controller purposes Battery: Battery  is used as a storage device. Rectifier converts AC from supply mains into DC. DC is stored in battery up to its charging capacity. It has two main functions: It converts electrical energy into chemical energy and stores it in the presence of power through rectifier  It converts chemical energy into electrical energy and delivers it to the load in...
